About Château de Carignan

Château Carignan is in Carignan-de-Bordeaux, just outside of Bordeaux. Built in 1452 by Jean Poton de Xaintrailles, a comrade of Joan of Arc, it played a crucial role in the Battle of Castillon, ending the Hundred Years’ War. In 2007, Andy Lench purchased the 150-hectare estate spread over the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux, 65 of which are under vine. The Château follows sustainable farming practices.
